Rmx or rmx 2018?

No difference other than the colour.

The 2018 version is just a little bit shorter than the older one. The white RMx also comes with individually sleeved braided cables.

There is a difference the 850w is an older model and has a larger footprint. The New rmx 2018 and up were re-engineer and have a smaller form factor also improved internals.

I personally have the RM750x in white, its been a great PSU and 80% of the time the fan never runs on it. but still very cool to the touch.

There no difference between the cables of either other than color. None of the cables are individually sleeved. They have braided covers over the the cables as a whole.

It seems like the RMx White 2018 uses normal cables, while the older version uses braided ones.

There wen't braided they were just bare rubber. I thought the same thing when I was looking at them. When I got the 2018 model at micro center they had both so I was able to look at them both.

It's literally a marketing point on Corsair's site for the RM750x that it uses paracord sleeved cables. You don't find the same thing on the page for the RM750x White 2018.

@Corsair Nick can you confirm that the white cables are just white rubber cables on both the old and new white RMx?

The "old" RMx was engineered by Corsair and is "overbuilt".  The "new" (2018) is leveraging a CWT platform with some tweaks that help the performance match that of the old version.

 

For the white versions:  The "old" White RMx has individually sleeved cables like the kind you buy aftermarket.  The "new" White RMx has just white sleeves over white wires and includes white "flat" cables.
