What course would you put linus in??  (if he finished college)

Information Technology?

Computer engineer?

Computer Science?

Independent individual who shows passion for what he does.

college exams are all outdated like back to 2009 anyway so learning that would make Linus a  regular techy who thinks he knows everything about anything yet have no idea what the latest tech is.

I can't put him anywhere, he'd have dropped out else he wouldn't be Linus. I dropped out because the course was too boring, and outdated, I'd have to learn that what is true is the wrong answer for things just because they are so damn outdated. I don't think Linus would have studied like that for something he is passionate about, I could be wrong though. but that's why I can't place him.

Sounds like your university didn't take the CS industry seriously, our course get updated every 6 months, core learning is the same, but different technologies get introduced as soon as possible. It's hard for some people but it teaches us to adapt to change. I can't stand outdated courses with programming classes that use software that is five years old, with projects that have been overdone and well documented on the internet.

Linus wouldn't have gone for software he is a hardware enthusiast like myself, I was talking about a hardware course such as network engineering.

I major in Network deployment and engineering, it's a very up to date course in my experiences, but anyway, off topic ;) I'd saying a marketing or communication major.

no idea where you study then since the course I wanted to take was one that was up to international standards and test exam papers were available all over the internet in case you wanted to test your knowledge before going into a test. anyways, I'm glad I quit since I'd have had to pay way too  much for things I mostly know already, I prefer trial and error and my boss really likes my attitude so I get a raise every once in a while, already getting more than I would have if I had 2 years under my belt.

though I heard something like that New Zealand's courses are a lot better than most from one of the uni teachers when I was there. I thought it was a load of bull at the time though.

Those online test sites may have outdated tests. If you search for a Comptia A+ practice tests, you get the old ones, meanwhile, they've updated it.

The ones I got was from a site given by my uni during my studies. was a waste of money to go in the first place.
