Vertical GPU Water Cooling?

Go to solution Solved by SolarNova,

You can viably do it for sure.

Below is my recently refresh rig. I switched cases and ended up using a vertical GPU mount so i could fit my res to the rear of the case.

The mount is from Kaislin and has more adjustability than CM offering and allows for the use on the lowest most PCI-e slot for my sound card.

Vertical bracket and the GPU should not sag as the GPU itself should lock into the riser board at the bottom, and screw into the bracket at the top like normal ,and the bracket itself should attach with multiple screws to the rear of the case, resulting in a sturdy mount.

I'm considering configuring my current PC build into a water cooled one with the Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 Xtreme WATERFORCE WB. I would like to be able to make this GPU vertically mounted within my case, however. My case is a Lian-Li PC o11 Dynamic and my current graphics card is mounted vertically with a Cooler Master vertical GPU kit. I have built a few PCs but I have never done anything relating to a custom water loop. As a beginner and with my case and vertical GPU kit, is this something that I can viably do?

absolutely. One concern though is if the vertical bracket sags at all from weight of the gpu. Some watercooled gpus are heavier than air cooled and could be a potential problem

I'll make sure to be weary of that. My current gpu is the Aorus Rtx 2080 xtreme which is heavy as all hell and as far as I'm aware the card doesn't sag, so I assume there wont be too much of an issue, but I'll make sure to monitor it.
