Best Clip on Microphone?

Hi all!

 

I just have a question about a microphone. So basically, I am creating a trailer for a VR game that I am making for a school project and I plan on conducting interviews for the trailer (then putting them in the trailer). I'm looking for a budget clip-on microphone to record the audio while I conduct the interviews. I plan on using my Nikon D5500 camera to visually record the interview, and Adobe Audition to edit and clean up the audio. I don't have any experience when it comes to these microphones, so I thought I'd ask!

Look at the reviews, people post videos there to showcase the microphones, since they are a no name brand you wouldn't find that kind of test anywhere else (or maybe you can idk)

But to be honest, I feel like most of them are likely going to be the same as long as there's a significant number of positive reviews.

They all do sound way below average in my opinion, if you're okay with that kind of sound quality then go for it, but otherwise I think it would be best to invest in a standard microphone with a separate pre-amp (Like an Audio Interface)

cheap lapel mics can be good even if cheap just depends on your implementation. this is what gus Johnson uses in this video he sounds pretty good
