the 2700x has a higher base and turbo clock and higher TDP. They're kinda sorta factory OC, but also not exactly.

The 2700 is easier to cool because of its (much) lower TDP, but is a bit worse in performance due to the lower factory clocks. It's not hard to OC the non-"x" models to around "x" model levels though.

The deciding factor should be whether or not you might OC and how big the price gap between them is. If the price gap is less than $50, I'd maybe consider the 2700x; but if its bigger than that just get the 2700.

I googled "2700x vs 2700 value comparison" and this was the 4th result, please try googling things before asking such questions.

And if you actually wanted some useful answers then we would at least need to know what you'd be using the CPU for and what are the prices you can acquire said CPUs for. But really there's probably tens of videos online comparing the two CPUs in different use cases, so go find one that has your use cases benchmarked, see the results and evaluate if the increase in performance from 2700 to 2700x is worth the increase in price you'd have to pay.

Main rig:

• Ryzen 3600X • X370 Killer SLI • 16GB Corsair LPX 3200Mhz • Strix 1070ti • Define R5 • SuperNova 750 G2 • Evo 1TB + X300 4TB •

Secondary rig:

• Acer prebuilt • Rzyen 1700X (upgraded) • OEM 1060 3GB • 256GB SSD + 1TB Seagate (upgraded) •

As much as something like userbenchmark.com might give you a good indication of what to expect out of a CPU it really isn't a good tool to find out if a specific CPU will provide more value to YOU over another model. Especially since it wouldn't know at what price OP can acquire said processors and other factors like if they play a lot of games that like higher single threaded performance.

On top of that, userbenchmark is not always correct, and sometimes gives you BS comparisons. NEVER use only one benchmark to compare other CPUs UNLESS they are from the exact same architecture AND using the same setup.
