look at AMD 570, 580. GTX . 770, 960. Should find a good on one of those... I linked some good deals already.

I'm planning on getting an MSI RX 460 https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-RX-460-2GB-GDDR5-PCIeX1-Full-Height-Graphics-Card-GPU/113145315278?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 and want to know if it will work with my motherboard, which is a Asus P5QL Pro ATX. If so how much better would it be from an EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTS250 512 MB?

My other parts:

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.66 Ghz

RAM - 8 GB (2 GB x 4) DDR2

It's not even [strong_language] legit, but a legit RX 460 does work with your system

Watch this, looks similar to what you are looking at.

But yeah it is fake. Try looking on local creg's list for deals-- its often easier to verify that the parts are legit.

I've looked at the seller reviews and they're all mostly positive, I found the page from another youtuber who was doing stuff about budget gaming here

mkay this is rude

you have poor judgement to not recognize that the card on eBay is NOT an RX 460. A quick google image search yields what most RX 460's look like

You need to look closer. It may be an RX 460 (hypocrite moment, I didn't dig deep enough initially), but it isn't an MSI card.

1. Looks like none of those MSI sells. you can check from MSI's own site

2. Even an RX 460 deserves a better cooler

However this card does seem to be an RX 460

MSI or not I don't know. Without taking the cooler off it's hard to tell if you get the same core underneath.

jheeze my bad man, the model you are looking at must have been designed for compact pre-builds. This means it will also run hotter / have less breathing room than almost all other 460s (due to nearly all others haveing much larger heat dissipation systems).

I said most for a reason. If you look very closely, you can actually see the card that you were looking at has the name "HP 910486 AMD RADEON RX 460". I may have been wrong in the sense that it may be an RX 460, but it's not an MSI card. They usually have branding from what I understand.

Additionally, if it is used it was likely used in a workplace environment where computers are often neglected ( not properly cleaned and taken care of). Just something to keep in mind.

I just noticed the AMD one, I have no clue why the other listing says MSI

I think what we are looking at is a custom version of the 460 designed for HP compact computers. At times when a larger company outsources GPU's (hp to msi), the gpu provider will not brand the card as they would their consumer versions. I mean look at this thing, If i was MSI I would not want my name on it.

yeah I just realized that too, but even MSI has put branding on GPUs for pre built PCs so I feel like this could go either way.

100% agree, in an alienware I took apart a while back there was a blower style blacked out Nvidia 1000 series (cant remember exact model) card. Branding was kept to a minimal but when inspected closely the head sync provider was branded on it (cant  remember if it was MSI or ASUS).
