Portable Hard disk comparison

I haven't been able to find some good graphs for portable HDD drives. Anyone know what's the fastest Portable Hard drive out there or the best price to performance Hard drive?

Specs: Motherboard: Asus X470-PLUS TUF gaming (Yes I know it's poor but I wasn't informed) RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE® LPX DDR4 3200Mhz CL16-18-18-36 2x8GB

            CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X          Case: Antec P8     PSU: Corsair RM850x                        Cooler: Antec K240 with two Noctura Industrial PPC 3000 PWM

            Drives: Samsung 970 EVO plus 250GB, Micron 1100 2TB, Seagate ST4000DM000/1F2168 GPU: EVGA RTX 2080 ti Black edition

External hard drive or External SSD? Both are very different prices and have different use cases.

Yes cause it is TECHNICALLY limited by the USB 3.1 standard. 

But spinning disks are still slower then SSDs so it's still a legitimate question. :D

Most HDD are 6Gbps where an SSD could max out 3.1 (now 3.1 gen 1 then next faster is 3.2 gen 2 next faster is 3.2 gen 2x2 look at the techquickie video) at over 10Gbps (Gbps=gigabit per second GBps= gigabyte per second) depending on nand flash speed and controller.

You're missing my point. No hard drive I've ever used can actually read or write at 6Gbps. So if he wants a faster drive, he gets an SSD like a T1 or Sandisk Extreme.

Yup an SSD will always be faster than a HDD

Most HDD are at 1gbps read or write if they are of good quality and newer

I am asking for Hard disks not SSDs, also I don't think USB 3 is limiting Hard drive speeds yet consider most hard drives rarely scratch 150MB/s
