Charging laptop at any percentage

I have just bought a new laptop and want to keep my battery in a good state since this is the last laptop ill be getting from my parents. 

My question is, when playing games I have to charge the laptop since it is better for the laptop. But what if its on 50% and I want to play games? Does charging it decrease the battery lifetime?

Just leave the charger plugged in the entire time you're gaming or using the laptop near an outlet, it's better than charging and draining the battery continuously
