Next upgrade suggestions?

Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

Installing your OS and core applications on a SSD and using the HDD only for mass storage and games is probably the only wise upgrade to do in here.

Your build is very balanced but whatever you do from here will need hefty costs, like your memory is too bad for any faster CPU and if you were going for faster CPU you'd need to ditch the whole platform.

A faster GPU alone only makes sense if you're targeting more eye candy and resolution than refresh rate.

Hello all!

Just looking for some new upgrade suggestions.

Build:

CPU: Intel I7-6700

GPU: Asus 1070 OC Strix edition

Mobo: Asus H110m-plus

Case: Thermaltake V4 black

HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda drive

RAM: 2x8 DDR4 2133

What's the next step?

I was thinking maybe an SSD or a new motherboard.

I forgot to mention, I really only focus on 1080p gaming,

But thanks! Next step is probably a decent SSD and maybe after a year or so I'll upgrade Mobo and cpu together since my 6700 won't be losing me any frames during 1080p

I'd also upgrade you ram when you do that since it can make a performance difference though it's more substantial on Ryzen processors than Intel's offerings. Plus ram right now for 16 GB of DDR4 3000 is only $80 to $100
