EK WB vs AIO

I have checked out the EKWB Kit and its darn sexy, but the price is not that sexy.  Around 400 dollars is almost the cost of a CPU your cooling in the first place lol.  My question is... On my AIO I get idle temps of 30' c  and load temp of 60's avg.  My question is how much better can a EKWB do ?  50's c load ?

It should drop a little bit due to a better block design. I'd say low 60's to mid 50's underload.

The main difference is the ability to share and add more rad space including an excess to help dissipate heat and more important to do so silently. With larger AIO's such as the 280mm and 360mm ones you can get comparable performance.

Thanks my guru KingCry... So is that really worth it to gain 5 to 10c less for 380 dollars :0

Why do you need lower than 60 is my question?

I never said I did LOL ,,,,, Im happy with the temps.. With AIda it might hit 70c but goes down to 60's.  Plus my CPU has the crummy IHS and I see temps jump around for no reason.  I guess its more for show.  My case doesn't have a window so what do you think ? FYI I have to take out my current AIO to RMA , as the pump died came back alive and is buzzing but working now lol.-

Possibly, only if you plan on doing the rest of the system under the same loop would it make it worth it imo. But if you need to RMA the AIO already it might be worth looking at something with more surface area for the rad and a faster pump?

I have an air cooler for that exact reason. Pretty hard for an air cooler to break and usually when it does it's just a fan and can be easily replaced. An AIO you are pretty screwed if the pump goes out and you have to get a new one. I guess you are a rare case where it starts working again sorta.

Also about GPU cooling.  I mean isnt there a limit the GPU goes to and cant be overlcocked anymore.  I set a fan curve of 70 percent speed and I can barely here it when I game.  There is a limit the GPU can go up to or the VRAM, then it wont work.. So with WC you get 20c less!

Get it cooler and it will boost higher. Normally with turing and Pascal with a proper block GPU temps under load would be in the 30's to 40's at their peak.

First of all, don't buy an EKWB kit. Priced out:

EK-Kit P360 (400$)

vs

Hardwarelabs 360mm Rad: 60$

3x 120mm fans :30-50$

EK Classic Water Block + PUMP + RES: 150$

6 fittings: 40-50$

Coolant: 10-20$

Tubing: 10$

total: 320 (Am I missing anything?)

personally, for gaming, an AIO is more than enough for the cpu. The only reason to go for a custom loop, is if you're going to water cool the gpu too.
