Will this bottleneck?

My friend just upgraded from a gtx 650ti to the r9 270x my other friend wants to buy the 650ti off of him for $100 the problem is he is running a intel pentium g620. If he buys the 650ti will it bottleneck? He will be upgrading the CPU in the future but don't know when.

It will bottleneck, but tell him to buy it. He can get a better CPU in the future and have an all around decent gaming rig.

He is upgrading from a really old nvidia 7950

it won't bottleneck too much, a friend of mine is gaming on a 2 GHz celeron dual core G430 and using a GTX 640. He can max out most games up to 1600 x 900 resolution. I'd say go for it.

What games is he maxing? Cause I doubt it's today's games.

The G620 is essentially a i3-2100 that has been underclocked without hyperthreading. It may bottleneck it a little bit but everything should still remain at playable frame rates on decent settings. He can always upgrade to a i5-3570k later on down the road to bring out the true performance of the card. If the price is right then why pass it up, tho keep in mind a brand new GTX 650 Ti only costs $134. Is it worth the extra $34 and buy one brand spanking new? If the card has been pre-owned for several months I personally wouldn't pay $100 for it (unless it was in immaculate shape).

The card is in perfect shape only been used casually for games like league of legends,mine craft and skyrim. The peon buying it mostly plays league of legends and WoW nothing really huge. I have the 3570k partnered with a 660 so when he upgrades his CPU at minimum I wouldn't let him go lower than the 2500k.
