Galaxy S7 charging issue

XR6

Hi,

I've encountered a weird charging issue with my Samsung Galaxy S7.

I put my phone onto charge about 2 hours ago. It was at 2% then and was fast charging (or so I thought).

2 hours later I checked my phone and I noticed it was only at 8%. Not only that, it was extremely hot to the touch, at the point where my fingers started hurting if I held it for too long.

I've got a few questions about this:

1. Is it normal?

2. Should I be worried?

3. Is this a sign of a battery/charger issue?

Thanks :)

I only encountered this problem once with my S8 on the wireless charger, I think I knocked it off the direct line of the coil, so the charging became inefficient. It made the phone hot and didn't charge it much.

I would suggest trying a different cable if you have one, or a different wall plug.

Try getting a fine, soft brush and seeing if there is any crap in the charging port that could interfere.

Are you using the official charger?

Have you tried a different charger and cable?

Is there some background task eating the battery (maybe a reboot will fix it)

I'm using the Samsung fast charger that came in the box when I bought it.

The original charging cable broke so I'm using one from a J3 however it hasn't affected charging performance.

No I haven't, I don't have any other chargers/cables.

I'll try that now
