Okay guys, as some of you, if not most of you, know I'm planning a build sometime this year. Below is my current semi-final configuration or components (if you want). I may still end up changing one or two things depending on what hardware is released this year.

SYSTEM BUILD DETAILS (Black & White Themed)

CASE: Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 (White)

PSU: Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP

CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.5GHz (will be OC to 4.4GHz max)

COOLING: Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler (Black Edition) + 4x PH-F140HP case fans

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD16GX3M2A1600C9 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked 2GB (will possibly change to GTX 870 when it is released)

SSD: Samsung 840 EVO Series 500GB

HDD: Western Digital WD Black WD2003FZEX 2TB

OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1

My main purpose for this PC will be video editing with the "occasional" gaming.

I would like to know of a good Gigabyte motherboard that has external eSATA ports, any recommendations are welcomed.

So that's it, that will be my build. :D

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Lower the CPU and get 780. Also just get vengeance its cheaper, unless you really want it.

Actually, just any RAM for that matter in the forum of 8GB. Even G.Skill memory is cheaper.

Yeah, @Hazy125 has suggested that. I was thinking though of just getting 8GB initially and get another 8GB if needed.

Believe me, I have thought about doing that plenty of times but I have a feeling that I will be needing the 4770K for video editing. As for the RAM, it's only AU$10 more to go with the VP RAM.

My brain works weird, I'd have swapped out most of those for cheaper equivalents because I'm cheap as hell.

That said, if you got the cash for these parts, they will perform, but I'd get 16 gig ram, trust me on that one. Especially if you want to keep yourself busy while a video renders.

Spoiler

I did think of going for cheaper parts but I really want this PC to last me for awhile.

Okay if you really think it would be beneficial I will go for the 16GB. It will probably make the PC last even longer. :D

Unless you're buying soon, I suggest you plan later since parts and prices change frequently. Any parts list you come up with will likely be a bit obsolete by the time you're buying if isn't.
