Hi!

I have this older ASUS P5B mobo that I'm not sure if is alive or not. The issue is that the green power LED on the board is blinking, not giving me a steady glow.

So far I have tried with all my components installed, only CPU, and finally without any components, still blinking.

I guess the question is, is this a mobo or a PSU issue? Does any of you have any experience using this mobo series that knows anything about this issue.

Any response is appriciated!

Try not to use a modern PSU. Old boards like this like PSUs with heavy 5V rails, rather than current gen 12V heavy supplies.

That said, my P2B-F doesn't have this blinking issue.

Are all capacitors still in good condition?

If you don't know if it works, its hard.

First you need to check the Voltage Jumpers/Dip Switches as well as the Multiplier and FSB Jumper.

Remember that AMD K6-2 CPU interpret 1,5 and 2 differently, meaning as 4.5 and 6.

What PSU are you using? The 5V Thing is not correct, the Power is low enough that any modern PSU of decent quality should work.

That's more a conscern with high end AMD Athlon and Athlon XP Systems...

Though I'd still use a modern if possible instead.
