Hey Everyone,

This is just a quick post to tell you guys about my idea for a case mod. This is a long term and very expensive project.

Step 1: The mITX case that doesn't have the I/O on the bottom with a water-cooling pump and a couple of rads, 935 in the middle with 4 r9  290s, i7 4770k 32 Gbs of Ram, the Asus Maximus VI Extreme (this is mostly dreams at this point) etc. The mITX case with the I/O on the top with drives and a couple rads. This is a Mining RIG.

Step 2: Spray paint a picture of a red claw scrape going across the window (but not actually on it).

Step 3: Do the same as step one with another PC, but with 4 nvidia gtx 780ti's and a gigabyte g1 sniper 5, but cut out the motherboard tray, turn it around and weld it back in place. Flip the side panels.

Step 4: Spray paint a picture of ivy around the window.

Step 5: Find a way to attach the two.

And voila, a Mining PC and Gaming PC attached. You now have what I will call the "ALCEDO" named after the kingfisher in Latin (Alcedo atthis)

I would love to know all of your opinions on this,

Thanks

-Billy

Yup... That is a bit WAY too much cash spent. You could do just as well for mining if you shell out a third of that cash in a dedicated pre-made mining rig thing and spending the rest on a very high end pc anyway

There's no way you're going to be building either of those PC's.

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

Thats a good concept. A lot of work would have to go into that. are you looking for more functionality or aesthetics?

I know, but I can dream can't I? I would love to complete the mining rig with a couple of GPUs and the spray paint though!

I'm thinking more about aesthetics (hence why I would bother to flip the side panels and 'Invert' the motherboard tray). But, the two 935s (and 2 mITX cases) bring loads of functionality just by being there at all Thanks for the kind comment, it is greatly appreciated!
