Hey,

A week ago, I went ahead and delidded my 7700k to hopefully reduce the temps a bit. All was well, temps were ok but considering ambient temps in Australia can be annoyingly high, I opted for some more case fans to hopefully regulate the air a bit better.

Today, I went ahead and installed some spare fans I had sitting in the pc case I had just switched from (Both phanteks), which didn't go so well. I plugged them into the phanteks fan hub I got with the case, but shit hit the fan. Upon turning the pc on, cpu temps went crazy. Motherboard is reading a mobo temp of ~29 while reading a cpu temp of 99/100. The cooler is cold to the touch, with corsair link telling me the same readings (Mobo temp ~29 with temp #2 being consistent 99). Cpu temps then read ~99 across all cores with the package at 99.

Using multiple different programs give the same reading, with an aida test showing some thermal throttling.

All items have been bought from pccasegear, so all invoices are kept online.

Specs

7700k

MSI z270 m3 gaming

GSkill 3200 16gb

Strix 1080ti

H100i v2 Cooler

storage

Not sure what to do at this point, CPU eventually drops to ~2ghz or less after running

That. or the water pump failed and the water doesn't circulate?

Maybe you bumped a screw on the cooler and it got loose making poor contact with the cpu ?

ps. Yeah, looks like your ram runs at default 2133 mhz...

I'm about to try reseat the cooler, but it seems very stable. The pump itself is reading 7k rpm which i dont think is right tbh...

The ram tho, yea its just at 2133 as I've just defaulted the bios / cmos reset after fiddling around.

Only to find that yes, the pump is dead. The copper plate is hot af, how do I make sure its the pump.
