500 dollar budget build

I want to make a budget 500 dollar build using intel, but I don't have a general idea on what parts to buy

I want to play games like bf3 and league of legends on about high or better but I don't know what parts would work with a processor like a core i3

any suggestions?

For that kind of price I can say that it is fairly difficult to build a PC that can run BF3 on high.

If you were going to build something this is what I would say.I would then say to save up for either a 7870 or 7850 2gb graphics card.

500 bucks? my tip is to wait a month or two to get some more money, do some jobs for family etc and raise your budget up to around 7-800 bucks. i think this will be an better idea, you will get a better system and do not need to upgrade when bf4 is comming. (assuming you dont wanna play on potato graphics witch i THINK you have to do on a 500 dollar budget)

collect some extra money, that my tip :D

me personaly wud have done that, i have collected some money myself so in may im starting my build... i have a budget on 3100 dollar as it is rigth now :D im so damn exited :D

Look up Duncan33303 on youtube. He has a guide for a $500 build that will fit your needs perfectly. He benchmarked the final result and got 30-40 fps on BF3 at 1920x1080. :)

My 4 year old core 2 duo laptop with no gpu gets at LEAST 20-30 fps on max settings, and very playable fps (40+) on a slightly lower render distance, so you're doing it wrong.

Easy stuff, here ya go:

(links below to avoid clutter, and I don't know how to embed links >.<)

Case: NZXT source 210. 40$, great case for the price, mid tower. No brainer.

CPU: Now you mentioned i3 so if you want to go intel, pickup an i3 2100. 2 cores/4 threads, 3.1GHz. Should serve you well.

mobo: Newegg has an AMAZING deal going on right now where they're giving away 8GB of ram free with select boards. That's like 60$ free. The cheapest 1155 board they had was an H77 board from biostar for 80$ memory: 2x4GB free with the board

PSU: corsair CX 500. a little much for this build as far as wattage but it allows you to throw in a high end GPU and CPU in the future without having to get a new PSU. only 50$ and not sketch quality like a lot of lower prices PSUs

Hard Drive: pick up a 1TB seagate barracuda or a 1TB wd blue for 75$

GPU: Best for last. You can pick up the new 650ti boost for 150$ from evga.

All told this comes to 515$. A bit over budget but I think you'll be pretty happy with it.

Yes they're all newegg links because it's easy to shop there and I'm very familiar with the site, but I would definitely search for everything on amazon/tigerdirrect/ncix before you buy just to get the best price you can.

Also, I'll admit right now I'm much more familiar with intel's product lineup that AMD's so if someone wants to post a comment with alternate AMD cpu&mobo options that don't go over budget, please go ahead :P

If you are going to play BF3 you definetely need better hardware. I would say i5-3750k or i7-2600 for a CPU. I'm not a GPU type of guy so I'm not sure what you can get, but $500 are not enough.
