hey there!

I want to treat my self and upgrade my  aging nas pc (core i5 3470, 8gb ram, 4tb HD)

I'm going to install on It unNRAID.

Mainly going to use it for plex server and file backup (need a big storage)

Budget 500$-700$ (us dollar).

I'm living in Israel so if the part can ship internationally its will be great (if not I mange my self)

Thanks!

What's wrong with those specs? That'll handle file-storage perfectly well and if you slap e.g. a GTX1050 on it and buy Plex Pass (you need Plex Pass to take advantage of H/W-accelerated transcoding in Plex), it'll work great for Plex as well.

That's better than my NAS which is an i7 860 + 8GB RAM. I've never had any problems with plex or storage backups on the machine.

What exactly is the problem with your existing system? What are you trying to do that it is unable to handle?

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

You could always just add more storage, or faster storage, like an SSD or SSD RAID, or even an HDD Raid, other than that, it depends on what's bottlenecking.

Yes. I've bought several of these expansion-cards and they work great: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-Express-1x-To-4-Port-Sata-3-0-6G-Expansion-Controller-Card-88SE9215-Marvell/263878083685

Does it have an available PCIe slot? If so, you can get SATA expansion add in cards. Depending on how many ports you need and how fancy you need it to be, they can vary in cost from $15 up to $100+
Otherwise replacing the existing drives with larger capacity drives is always an option.
