Need opinion to upgrade GPU

samri93

Hi all,

My current build is i5 3470 with 8gb ram, and now using gtx1050ti. Planning to upgrade to RX590 or GTX1060TI but does my current processor is able to handle the new gpu or bottleneck.

I am also want to change my processor to Ryzen 5 2600 later. So is my current CPU able to utilize the new GPU or  i have to change my cpu first?

Thanks.

Ryzen 5 2600

16GB DDR4

GTX1660TI

Running Endeavour OS (KDE) / Windows 11

I'd get a 1660 ti, and your cpu is going to bottlenect, but I'd wait for zen 2 in the summer b4 you upgrade. mabye just get a rx 570/580 (100$ less than 1660 ti), and wait for summer for 7nm ryzen

second to this. 1660ti is a strong buy, just dont buy the most high end ones as they are close to 2060 price.
