It all started with thermal paste

Just upgraded my cpu cooler. When i did apply it, thermals were good. But, performance was crap. My R5 1600 is preforming well under what it should be. My frames on CSGO were around 250, but now cant even get past 70                          (not just on cs, bf v as well). I don't think the cooler is to blame, maybe thermal paste? Anyone have any answers?

The temperatures seem fine in idle and under load?

Yeah I'd take a look at temperatures first. Maybe the application of the paste went wrong or not enough mounting pressure after putting it back on.

Yep

Idle is around i think 40c

Under load, depending on what im doing (playing bf v for example) probably around 70c
