GPU Recommendations

currently playing on a i7 8700k and using a gtx 970 sc, I just want to play 1080p on max settings. what gpu should I get? do I really need a 2060, 2080?

If you play at 60Hz, then 2060 is enough. If you play on high refresh rate, then go higher.

If you can have a cheap Asus Vega 56 strix with the 6 game bundle, and you like those games you should check it out.

you also need a better PSU

A 1660TI or 2060 will be fine.
