Cooler won't fit. Please help

Hello.

 

So l just got all my components and i got the motherboard in. Then l decided to connect my case fan to the motherboard. But the fans cable which has 3 pins, wont fit to the motherboard. I cant find where the fan cable goes on the motherboard. Is it safe to run the pc without case fans? Or is there a solution? My motherboard is Asus Z370-P ii. Case is NZXT H500

You can plug them into the 4 pin fan headers on the board.

As said, you can still plug into that header, its just that the fourth pin is for PWM and your fans don't support that so they just won't use it.

Fans can be controlled without PWM and with DC instead. PWM is just a way to getting analog results with digital means. For fans, it's powering a fan with 12v pulses as opposed to variable voltage.

 

@seba4011 2-4pin fan headers are backwards compatible. You can plug the fan into a fan header on the motherboard and set the header to DC for control.
