Hey guys my build is:
Cooler Master H500P case
Ryzen 7 2700X
Aorus X470 Gaming 5 Motherboard
Corsair LPX Vengeance 16GB 3000mhz DDR4
RTX 2080 ROG Strix OC
Samsung Evo 860 500GB
Segate Baracuda 7200RPM 1TB

and i was wondering why in Ghost recon Wildlands at max settings I only get 40 - 50 FPS, or in SotTR i get about 70 FPS, now i know these numbers arnt an issue but it baffles me when i watched the recent video by Linus the buget gaming builds were out performing my rig, if someone could give me some insight it would be great.

Make sure you quote @WereCat so they can see your response

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I never actuality played Ghost Recon but I know the game is very demanding even at 1080p.

Since the RTX 2080 is very similar to 1080ti in gaming performance, check the benchmarks for 1080ti for that game.

On YT, I believe that JayzTwoCents did some testing.

Double chec your settings for Wildlands. As for Tomb Raider. Since you have a 60hz monitor, this will limit the FPS output to reduce screen tearing.

Okay you can quote instead of tag. But Ubisoft have a track record for having poorly optimized games. Reduce some of the wildlands settings and see if that improves FPS performance. But you will likely be stuck around 60FPS due to your monitor.

SotTR FPS highly depends on what environment you're in.

I can't watch the video right now as I'm on bus with no headphones so IDK what exact hardware they used for testing and at what settings but from personal experience the FPS can vary hugely depending on the zone you're in.

Double check your GPU usage, it should be optionally at 100%.

OK, that's definitely an issue.

Does this happen even if you lower the settings?

Also, you mentioned you have VSync disabled, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Just to make sure.

Do you have multiple monitors?

If yes, do you play in true full screen mode?

hmmm @Autistic Catgirl i dont seem to have a Ultimate Performance setting can you help with this?

You need to be running on a version of Windows 10 that's equal to or greater than 1803. You can try updating Windows, maybe? Otherwise, high performance is still very good.

Spoiler

That's not a default power plan Windows comes with. It likely doesn't matter anyway since it probably forces everything to never use power saving features.

Though related to your issue, I have a Ryzen 2700X with a GTX 1080 and I recently tried GR:WL. I don't recall anything specific but I don't remember there being performance issues.
