Hi there!

First of all, excuse my bad english.

I am almost done mapping out my new build, but I am really torn between 3 CPU coolers, as I do not want liquid cooling.

All other parts are going to stay as they are listed, yes I know some are overkill and a "waste of money", but it's only the CPU cooler and graphics card that I am still not sure about.

I know the bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4 is the best performer out of the bunch as of right now, but I was wondering whether the CoolerMaster Ma610P or the Aorus ATC700 would get the job done on my CPU.

I don't really care if it would be a little louder choosing one of the RGB fans, as the RGB aesthetic would more than make up for it.

Also, would the 1660Ti make the computer perform well enough in most new games, or should I opt for a 2080Ti? I'm planning on upgrading it in the future, but would prefer to start off with the 1660Ti if it's going to perform well enough :)

Edit: If anyone could recommend any RGB strips that work with RGB Fusion (gigabyte software) I would really appreciate it :)

Edit 2: New parts list

A 1660 Ti will certainly perform "well enough", but it's not exactly a comparison to a 2080 Ti, so that's not really an easy call. It's more whatever you feel like spending money on. As for the cooler, I'd go for the Dark Rock Pro. It's less about noise and more about pure cooling capacity. The 9900K runs hot, so you'll need all the help you can get. Get some RGB fans for it if you want.

Why the crazy expensive motherboard and RAM? 32GB of okay RAM should cost you $250. You're paying $700. Even if its super fast, you want to pay $500 more for a difference in speed you'll never even notice? You're also spending like $300 more on the motherboard than if you just got a high-end ATX board that would have every feature that $550 has other than some real niche stuff. Also, if you're spending $190 on a case (I can see the long term value of spending a lot on a nice case here), its probably going to come with all the fans you need, so why spend $80 on fans? You can also probably get by with a 750-850W PSU, even if you went with a 2080ti. That would cost you like $90. Instead you're getting a 1000W $270 PSU.

Around $1000 of unneccisary spending here imo. Thats enough to go from the 1660ti to 2080ti for no extra cost, or just save that money and buy a lifetime supply of ramen or something. Just don't waste it on steeply priced PC parts. You could save all that money and I guarantee you would not know the difference in any scenario when using the computer versus what you picked.

In short, I like the look of all the parts as they are, and I have the money to buy them. This is likely to be the first and last PC I ever build, therefore I want it to look as good as it can.

I see now that I picked the wrong RAM, it is supposed to be 3200MHz, so it is down to 275 and not 700 :)

I've considered downgrading the mobo to the Z390 Aorus Master, but would that have enough RGB and fan headers to control everything via RGB Fusion? The Xtreme has a Fan Commander which comes in the box, where I can plug in all the fans.

What are you going to do with this build? Just game?

1080p? 1440p? Refreshrate (what games)?

And a 9900k with 32 GB of RAM paired with a 1660 ti is like driving a tractor with a 1000 ps bugatti engine.

Get a 9700k, save on the RAM and MB and get a 2080 with a nice monitor if you don't have one

Gaming for the most part, yes. I want to be able to play whatever games I feel like in the future on highest settings.

The idea is that I buy the 1660Ti as a placeholder for now, and upgrading to a 2080Ti later.

Right now I have 2x 24" C24G1, but I'm going to upgrade those later on as well.

Didn't even notice the 1000 W PSU and the non Priced 1660 ti

This build will perform noticeably better in every game and GPU Computing task and something like 2 % less performance in heavy CPU bound tasks (slower ram)

There is no point in this. If you want a 2080 ti (I would not recommend it unless you want 4k gaming get a 2080) get a 8700k or 9700 k, 16 GB Ram, a lower capacity SSD and get the 2080 ti with the money you save.

I've already ordered CableMod cable replacements for Corsair AXi series, so I'll have to go with one of those.

I think I'll go with a 2080 then, and possibly downgrade the mobo as well. (It looks so good I want to cry though)

Alright, I think I'll downgrade a bit on some of the components (mobo and ssd) and go for a 2080.

Do you know how I would go about getting the RGB on the fans to work with RGB Fusion without the Fan Commander that comes with the Z390 Aorus Xtreme?

Maybe get dual channel 2x16 GB of Ram instead of 4x8GB

My bad, not really used to using forums.

Will dual channel Ram be better than quad-channel for Ram? I've always thought it was the other way around

I was not clear on that subject. With 4x8 GB you are still using dual channel, just 2 times dual channel. Your cpu needs a different memory controller for quad channel (like threadripper or intel XE)

I think I'll stick with 4 sticks of Ram just for the aesthetic, but thanks for the help :D
