So I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and now I can't play Crysis 3 anymore without it crashing or freezing.

I hate Windows 8.1 as I was really looking forward to playing it. Guess i'm going back to Windows 7....

That should not be the case I have Crysis 3 on my laptop running fine without crashes and freezing not sure what the issue could be but it definitely works on 8.1

Apparently I am not the only one with the issues. It happens right on the main menu, I cannot click anything at all. Back and Apply buttons just do not work.

Did you upgrade from 8 or 7? Perhaps you need updated drivers?

Did not "upgrade" as such I did a fresh install like I always do with every copy of Windows. Using all the latest drivers as well.

There is absolutely no sense in this latest windows operating system. Microsoft has completely lost it's way and abandoned it's PC user base for some attempt at an Apple clone that is completely useless for desktop users. RIP Bill Gates as this fat **** Ballmer has gutted your once great company. Who is the idiot who okayed this version.. My god the artists took over the world of Microsoft and thought an artsy fartsy look would be good for BUSINESS and personal USE... I want to rip my eyes out so I can no longer see this horrible UI, this pile of shit... Poorly played Microsoft.. Bill, Get your people under control! they are running a mess of your company!

I just don't understand all the hates towards Windows 8

If its different, people will hate it. Most people got over it though.

I'd recently acquired two R9 290X'es, and to commensurate with the card upgrade, I decided to upgrade to 64bit Win8 Pro. Install the Upgrade copy of Win8 over my 64bit Win7 HP, everything went smoothly....much to my surprise as mine wasn't a clean install. Anyway, ran Crysis 3 at 57x12 at near max setting (4xMSAA only) and it was smooth.......certain programs don't work with Win8 but on a whole, it's a pretty good OS for gaming.
