Hi everyone,

Hopefully someone can help me out with these two issues I am having with my own custom build PC, which I think might be related. I am not able to narrow down the problem because I don't know what I could do to find out more about the cause of the problem. I am hoping one of you is able to help me out diagnosing the problem and finding a solution!

I am encoutering two issues and I think they might be related:

  1. When booting my PC after it was disconnected from the wall power outlet, it POSTS with the message: "sio power ok delay fail". It suggests accessing the BIOS and this works fine. I don’t really know what I should do or have a look at, but if I exit without changes it just boots into Windows fine.
  2. I have not seriously used this PC for gaming, or used it at all, for some time (approx. 6 months), but since a few days I started playing Apex Legends (who has not?). I am getting several issues with the game crashing in two ways:
    1. It freezes, and I have to kill the process by using the ‘Task Manager’ in Windows to get out of it.
    2. It shuts down the game and just leaves me in my desktop..

My specs are:

  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Sabertooth z87
  • Intel i5 4670k (stock)
  • 4x4GB (16GB) Corsair Vengeance LP RAM (1600MHz XMP profile 1)
  • Asus HD7950 DirectCU II Top V2 (stock)
  • Samsung 840 (non pro) SSD (120GB) boot drive
  • Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB storage drive
  • Corsair Enthusiast TX 750M (750W 80+ Bronze)

Things I have done so far:

  1. Updated drivers for Graphics Card;
  2. Repaired Apex, from option provided in menu in Origin;
  3. Reinstalled Origin and Apex.
  4. Removed graphics card from PC, reinstalled it and reconnected power cables. I also have checked that all cables are connected properly;
  5. Googled the first (POST) issue, found some people with similar issues but could not find a useful (to me) answer.
    1. Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q="sio+power+ok+delay+fail"&rlz=1C1GCEU_nlNL819NL819&oq="sio+power+ok+delay+fail"&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l2.20719j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
