So I have a old Toshiba laptop that I handed down to my friend, knowing it was sort of on its last leg. Messing with the hard drive, its now stuck in the factory reset process. Whenever I boot the laptop on, it automatically goes into factory reset mode, and gets stuck at the first step. My question is basically, is it possible to fix this at all? I really don't feel like wasting any more money on this thing. But I have an old blank laptop drive laying around, and I also have a Windows 7 installation CD laying around. It's possible for me to just put in a new hard drive, put in the windows installation CD and just use the product key on the back of the laptop right? If not, I'll probably just call it quits on this thing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I think you should be able to as long as it's the same edition of 7. (Meaning a 7 Ultimate won't work with a 7 starter COA.)

Well crap. Now I deleted the partitions and installed windows with the CD from building my desktop. Now I have no drivers or anything for the laptop. (Including internet ones so I can't go and download them). Is there anyways I can download them from another computer and put them on a flash drive onto this thing? It is an old Toshiba Satellite A665D S6051.

Try this link http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=2681437 I think these are the right drivers for your lap top. If not just use google or toshiba.com to find your model and drivers. Try not to install unnecessery bloatware from toshiba as it can just slow your lap top down. Oh and yes, just download them anywhere and put them on a flash drive and install the drivers on a lap top. Or download the wifi or lan driver, install it and the rest directly download to the notebook and go from there. Get a friend who knows more then you to help you. Good luck :)
