Sorry should've thought to list those specs. The power supply is an evga 500W white, and my processor is a Pentium G4560. I have 8 gb of ddr4 memory clocked at 2400MHz

There's your problem.

Upgrade your CPU to an i3 or a i5.

So I just switched out my gtx 1050 for a Radeon RX 570 I just bought. But the 570 is performing on par with the 1050 if not worse. So I'm wondering if this is a bottle-necking issue with my cpu, or if there is a larger problem here. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Also, did you plug in the full 8 pin (or two 4 pin) PCIe power connectors? If you didn't, please plug them in. If you don't have them, you need to get a new power supply. If you don't know, list your power supply model

Ryzen 7 3700X / 16GB RAM / Optane SSD / GTX 1650 / Solus Linux
