Weird affect on monitor when gaming

Heyo,

 

I was playing some counter strike today and I noticed an issue in game. There was this weird affect that I can best describe like comet's tail behind it, but it wasn't regular ghosting. It was just short, dark little effects behind textures and objects and such in game that would happen when I would change where I look (move my mouse). I disabled adaptive sync on my monitor's settings, which seemed to work, but I would like to use my adaptive sync to keep things smooth. 

 

I'm using an Asus MG248QR with my GTX 1070 Ti FTW2. Any help is appreciated greatly!
