D5 Thermal pad

Hi,

I have a question concerning the laing D5 pump.

On a ddc is a thermal pad below the pump ( if You remove it your pump burns and dies xD) which can be replaced.

My question is if the d5 has one too and where can I buy one?(living in Germany )

The D5 is cooled by the liquid flowing through it and so does not need a thermal or heatsink under it.

Oh ok ty.

But why does the ddc has one?

The D5 has a stainless housing that doubles as an active cooling plate for the power electronics and coils that drive the impeller. The DDC does not and has the PCB at the bottom which is why it's usually recommended to be heatsinked for longevity.
