Oh they certainly do, whether it's XFR on Ryzen, the X series also from Ryzen, or the new i9 9990XE, or 9th gen Intel, there are loads.

It's actually more lucrative for the companies and not the consumer because they're crazy expensive usually, or at least worse value compared to their stock counterparts.

Yields would be too low.

 

They can only guarantee so much

It's not such a thing anymore.

Not all processors are made alike - it's a very "risky" process and when making lots of processors, the same batch made in the same way can have great overclocking or shit ones. I recommend checking wikipedia for "binning"

 

Large companies that sell thousands of products must keep a low product failure rate - and when it's in the millions of products, every fraction of a percent is significant.

Therefor, companies are being extra safe and create a spec for every item they deem acceptable. Overclocking is basically saying "Yep. Imma run outside of spec, consume more power - and I don't know how good my processor is so it might now even overclock that well".

 

Recently, there isn't a lot to gain from overclocking. Not as much as there used to be.

I once gave Luke and Linus pizza.

This is why base and boost clocks exist.

You need to remember boosting uses more power.

You also need to remember not all parts will overclock the same.

There are also multiple factors that will vary from system to system, airflow, vrm, cooler, psu etc.
