Cpu problems

Hello, recently i've been having problems playing fortnite and apex legends because my framerate kept dropping from like 200 to 40 fps. I have noticed on xtu that my cpu utilization keeps dropping from 80% to 20% everytime i have these fps drops. Any idea on a fix?

I've got a laptop, dell 7577 with an i7 7700k

It's generally not the CPU's fault when CPU utilization drops. If I had to guess it's an issue with asset loading. I assume you have Apex installed on the HDD? That's probably the issue. Whenever a texture or model loads in the game it needs to load from your hard drive that isn't quite keeping up.

Apex is installed on a hdd but it does the same thing to fortnite which is installed on my ssd
