Scythe Fuma vs Scythe Mugen 5 vs Noctua NH-D15 vs Noctua NH-D15s

Hello,

I'm building my first pc, this is what I have (I' ll overclock):

-MSI z370 gaming pro carbon
-Intel I7 8700k (delid)
-Asus RTX 2080 Dual OC
-BitFenix whisper M 650W
-Intel SSD 660P 1TB
-2x 3TB 7200rpm HDD in RAID 1 (so my data it's safe)

After some researches I ended up with these four coolers as the best options. I want to aircool since unless you use a 280mm rad air it's better and wayy cheaper.

These are the prices in Italy, what would you recommend me and why?

-Scythe Fuma rev. B: 55€
-Scythe Mugen 5: 58€
-Scythe Mugen 5 PCGH edition (double fan): 60€
-Noctua NH-D15: 90€
-Noctua NH-D15: 80€

I don't really care about loudness (unless it's like having an helicopter in your case), I care just about cooling performance and price to performance.

Thanks for your help!

You more or less have them in order of cooling capacity. The Mugen 5 is your all-arounder, but the Noctua is the top of the pile for a reason. And it costs that much.

you wanna watch this one perhaps? it gives a good summary between the two.

One thing with big air coolers is case & RAM clearance. Be sure to check the numbers.

Is it worth the extra 20€ over the Fuma?

I honestly have no idea how well the fuma performs. Have you looked into any videos or anything?

I'd probably go the Rev. B, if your motherboard doesn't have a huge heatsink cover.

The 140mm coolers are nice if you have space, just because of the lower noise levels.

The Fuma has some wonky issues with mounting pressure. It can test better than the Noctua, but that can also crack a mother board. At least with rev.A. Rev.B performs at about the price category. With high-end air coolers, the performance is pretty linear.

Spoiler

Le Grand Macho is nice. Loses 1C to D15 while being 4dB quieter.
