Is 450 watt psu enough for rtx 2060

samar21234

Hey guys,

I have this pc, specs :-

Intel g4560

gt 1030

corsair 16gb ddr4 2400hz ram

corsair Vs450 watt PSU

256 GB SSD

4 TB HDD (1x4)

HyperX Alloy fps keyboard

Razer deathadder elite mouse

So, i'm thinking of swapping gt 1030 with a rtx 2060 so will vs450 psu will work fine or should i upgrade psu as well?

Thanks.

Pretty much any Nvidia GPU would be fine with a 450W PSU and this CPU. Take a look at this graph:

This is using a Core i9-9900K. Here's the link to the full article: https://www.techspot.com/review/1797-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-ti/

With that said, pairing an RTX 2060 with this CPU isn't the best thing to do. You should consider upgrading the CPU too or you will have a severe bottleneck.

No. The VS450 is awful

it's good for it's usecase. but that usecase isn't a hefty gaming gpu like the 2060

450 is fine, but the quality is too low here, you can ask me about a lot of units, so don't hesitate

You should be fine, because your CPU isn't power hungry.

Keep in mind that the RTX 2060 will be bottlenecked because of your CPU ! You should also upgrade your CPU.

Here is the consumption of the RTX 2060 alone :

Yes but not with a Corsair VS... that's like their lowest tier, it's a really low end model that's not advisable to be paired with any meaningful GPU.
