Blue Snowball all the sudden sounds really bad

Ok, so I've been having some PC issues and someone in there or slightly before my mic got really bad sounding according to my friends and before it sounded great. It has been plugged in via USB 2.0 passthrough on my keyboard but it sounds the same with the included USB 3.0 cable so there is no bottleneck there.I also got a new motherboard in that time but idk why that would make it sounds different. I have had it for a year.

check the sound settings for the mic, its possible that in getting your new mobo that the audio format (found under the advanced tab in the Windows sound manager) got lowered. Happened to my friend on his Blue Snowball, the audio was set super low quality and made him sound awful. Changing that setting to max quality fixed it in seconds.

My friend has up to 192k Hz on his mic with two channels where as I have 48k Hz even though I have a better mic. Why would this be? Mine is USB, his is mic jack. Also is there a way to get the quality on headphones better too?
