How to disable built-in mic

Here's the laptop I use

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079TGL2BZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've come to realize that, when I plug in my earbuds with a mic, not only does it use the earbud's mic, but it uses the laptop's built-in mic as well, which is right below the left alt key. This allows for the person hearing me hear the disk drive or fan and typing sounds, which might get annoying for them. I've tried to make it to where it only uses my earbud's mic when I plug it in, but it always uses both my earbuds mic and built-in mic.

plz help

I'm not quite sure how to set my port to mic. I do remember seeing a pop-up whenever I plugged in my earbuds, prompting if I plugged in a microphone, headphones, etc. I remember checking headset to default, but now I don't know how to change the setting.

No, it doesn't have a mute mic button. Even if it did, it would probably mute all mics.

Do you use any brand of earbuds or just the ones that came with your phone?
