Help needed.

So i bought this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAA6P6XB0167 a while ago and i made a mistake as my psu is the rmx and not the rm series now i read that the rmx series has different set of cables now im worried because i don't wanna fry the system it's expensive. So should i go and buy another cablemod set? because the cables i have type 3 and the one with rmx are type 4

Those cables will unfortunately not work with your power supply. See if you can return them to NewEgg or CableMod, even for an exchange for the correct set. I don't think the cables will even plug in, almost certainly at least the 24 pin.

iv been using them for a year and yes cablemod sent me the 24 pin the right one.But since i upgraded my system since then i don't wanna break anything. or fry anything since i upgraded the psu as well from rm650x to rm850x. i dont know if i should keep using them

If you got the correct 24 pin from CableMod, and are still using an RMx series, I'm comfortable saying you'd be fine, but I'm absolutely certain that if you email CableMod's tech support they could double check the cables they sent you, versus you current power supply.

@charbel1011 the 24-pin ATX cable is the only one different in those kits and the other cables are all compatible. Email Support@CableMod.com though and our support team can assist you with this.

Yes but what about the type 3 and type 4 cables the Rm use type 3 and the the rmx use type 4.

@charbel1011 they still function all in the same, the difference is the included capacitors in the Type 4 cables and the 24-pin ATX cable has additional pins - but all the cables will work in the same, again with the exception being the 24-pin ATX cable though as that has a 28-pin connector setup at the PSU end to accommodate the additional wires.
