HELP HELP HELP!

So yesterday my rig (specs in sig) started randomly shutting down. At first I thought it was temperature related because one of the AP181s in my FT02 stopped working (though the other two were working and my BeQuiet DRP TR4 should have been fine). Turns out the fan just got disconnected from the header, so that wasn't the problem.

I reconnected the fan, fired up a game, and it crashed again....

OK, so now I thought it might be GPU-related, so I ran DDU in safe modeand then reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver (without GeForce Experience). Rebooted, fired up a game again, and it crashed even sooner!

After that, I tried reseting my BIOS to defaults, but now it shuts down even just on the desktop, right when I log in!

I think it might be my PSU (Enermax MaxTytan 1050W), because after it shuts down, the power and reset buttons don't do anything and I have to turn the PSU off and on before I can turn it on...

Is it possible that it's something else? If it is the PSU, how can I verify that so that I can make a warranty claim with Enermax?

Thanks-in-advance,

4

Easiest way to test a PSU is to swap it out for a known-good one. There really aren't any consumer tools that can that aren't insanely expensive (and before someone links me to tools like this, they're not going to diagnose issues past rails being out of spec. rails can be within spec while the PSU is still faulty).

I pulled my old AX760i and the system runs fine (other than the fact that my Windows install got completely f'ed).

I've opened a ticket with Enermax so hopefully I'll get an RMA replacement soon.

In the meantime I want to get a replacement PSU from another brand and then flip the RMA on eBay or something.

I'm considering either the BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro 11 1000W or the Seasonic Prime 1000 Titanium, so I'd appreciate any recommendations on either.

Seasonic Prime Titanium are fantastic units, but I don't really know much about the Dark Power Pro.

WHAT COMPONENTS are the PSU powering?!
That is kinda important for a recommendation.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

I ended up fully swapping my AX760i back into the system and shipped the MaxTytan back to Lepatek. Hopefully will get a replacement in a week or two.

I'll probably end up sticking with the AX since I was under utilizing the 1050W anyway, and might just get some custom sleeved cables since the stock cables are kinda crap (especially the SATA power cables, which barely reach from the PSU to the drive cage in the FT02).
