Xbox 360 controller on and connect but not working

hello everyone i have a problem with my wired xbox 360 controller on my pc when i play games like Soul calibur 6 and Forza horizon on my PC it's connected but while i'm playing the controller just stops responding and it's still connected it just stops responding 

 

i have already tried uninstalling the controller from device manager and reinstalling it no luck

Front or rear USB port? I've had odd behaviour with wired controllers on front panel USB ports sometimes, likely due to the current required to run the rumble motors

One thing else to check is the break away cable. I've had a few issues over the years with those failing and causing disconnections
