Hello to everyone,I got quick question here:

My sister bought me rtx 2080 asus strix gpu and as I guess it's not an OC version, returning it back will be serious pain in the ass,so I'm interested if this gpu can be overclocked manually and safely to the levels of OC edition?

I was worried that I will get card with 1710mhz clocks and non A chip. My aim was to buy at this moment something powerful enough for a couple of years,so I wanted it to have some OC potential... Would you be so nice and check photo I've attached? If with the "worst" strix 2080 I can get good OC anyways,I can have that card on my hands in about 1 week when my sister visits me from another country or she can return it and I can get some OC version by myself in a couple of months or so...

First off, i want your sister to be my sister.

Second, You more than likely won't notice the difference, unless you look at it as an extra ~100mhz worth the return and upgrade with your money! I hope this helps. Plus just use MSI's afterburner. It works well with the auto overclock RTX cards

The strix cooler is good and generally the GPUs are binned higher so you should be able to get some more performance out of it with an OC.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Enjoy your new card and don’t worry about the overclock. I’ve got a strix 2060 and it’s been great so far, I can only imagine running a 2080 would be awesome

you can oc it with afterburner to at around 1950, the difference on the max oc might be as little as 2% in actual gaming performance, just keep the card.

just because it's not the "OC" model doesn't mean you can't OC it, it just means that ASUS's internal binning couldn't reach the standards they have for the OC variant of the card, you won't know the difference in the real world, at that point it's specs on a sheet of paper for which card left the factory with the higher preset OC.
