Hey guys, I'm a little worried about my internal hard drive. It started making some silent but repeating noises. The HDD activity LED blinks every time that noise happens which is every three seconds or so.

I include a screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo. Is it really time to say goodbye?  :(

It is at least time to do a backup of it if you haven't already! If everything is backed up then you can just wait until the drive dies and get a new one after that or you could get a new one straight away. But that drive is getting pretty old so this shouldn't come as a surprise. How many years have you had it for?

I've gotten it in late 2008, so yeah more than five years :D

I better buy a new one right away because I don't really have any space for a backup

But the noises dissappeared now, must have been a software access or something like that.

Edit: ordered new 3TB HDD :)

Thx guys
