Netflix Causing System Wide Stuttering

When watching Netflix, I'm getting system wide stuttering. Not internet lag, but actual stuttering across my system. Only Netflix seems to have this problem.

 

My hardware video decode only sits at ~10% and the CPU usage of chrome sits at ~5%. TBH, there isn't anything concerning about my hardware usage.

 

Specs:

32 gigs of RAM

Ryzen 1700 at 3.8

GTX 1070

 

I can't really think of any other details to provide as it doesn't matter what I'm doing as the issue only pops up when watching something on Netflix.

Try it on firefox? I see that you have a lot of RAM but I feel that it's worth a shot.

Happens on Firefox as well, doesn't matter which browser I use sadly.

Interesting. Is there a resolution you're watching in? Or does Netflix only allow up to 1080p (don't use it much anymore so not sure).

Netflix still caps out at 1080p, unless using specific hardware. (Pretty sure it's certain generations of intel processors.) You can manually override using an extension, but I'm not doing that currently because of this issue. Even then though, shouldn't matter what resolution I'm watching in since I'm using hardware decode on my GPU.

I've been looking on reddit and tomshardware, and it appears that its more of a Netflix issue than a PC issue. Just to be safe use DDU to do a clean install of your GPU drivers.

Yeah, I've hopped around online looking for answers as well. Tried all of the basic answers I've found online. But this seems to be a long term issue with Netflix if it is truly on them.

Yeah.. Sorry that there doesn't seem to be an answer for you. Netflix is lacking on quality it seems and producing too many Netflix originals.

Yeah, and I ran out of things to watch on Amazon. Though I do actually think that Netflix has been producing some really good originals.
