Is a 1080 a good upgrade from a 1060 3gb for 1080p@144hz I'm getting it second hand I play most esports games all br games and survival games. And I don't mind putting down settings, my budget is 400 euro

CPU: i7 6700

CPU cooler: Cryorig H7

GPU: Evga RTX 2070

Memory: 16gb Corsair RGB

HDD: 1tb WD blue

SSD: 120gb Kingston

Headphones: Hyper x Cloud

Keyboard: Logitech g810

Monitor: Aoc 60hz

For the right price yes! 1080 will get like 180fps in the usual games like CSGO, LOL, Fortnite

I'd say the RTX 2060 would also be a nice choice.

The RTX 2060 seems to perform a bit better than a regular 1080 in most games, from what I can see.

I went from the rx580 8gb to the rtx2060 and it was a huge difference. If I had to guess around 50%+ performance increase. 

I play pub g, apex legends, black ops 4 and the difference was big enough for me to justify the purchase. 

I use a 1080p 144hz monitor too, personally I’d do the rtx2060 because it’s newer and you’ll get the full warranty on it instead of going used

In what way? Doesn't the 1080 have 8gb?

 

I would personally stick with the 1080 since it has GDDR5X memory. Not as fast as GDDR6, but it's still faster than GDDR5.

Do the 2060 and call it a day. It’s a new card with full waranty. I’m more then happy with my purchase and I’m running a 1080p 144hz monitor
