IS there a way to find out how many watts my PC is using? I want to get new parts but i don't know if I need to get a new power supply. I am not planning on changing my CPU/GPU right now but new fans, motherboard, etc. I currently have a 450 watt power supply.

Corsair i Series of PSUs will alow you to use iLink and look at the PSU wattage usage among other things like temp or fan etc.

I have a gigabyte GPU

You will be using about 300 to 400watts when gaming.  At idle you will be at 130watts avg.

What parts do you currently have? What model CPU & GPU?

What parts are you planning on upgrading?

Which 450w PSU do you have? Should have a model number printed on the label on the side of the unit.

Ah, yes, with a Gigabyte GT610 and a G3240, he'll be drawing 300-400W at load, and 130W at idle... No. Without knowing the specs, you can't tell what the power consumption will be.

Your right seon123, totally right.  However Im taking into case, the different computers at work and the fun we had on them and my own experience with stats to show for it.  My rig in the sig is like 160 watts idle once you use it it will get close to 200watts,, worth case Ive seen is like 240 watts I believe.  Once you play a game its using like 400 watts plus!!!

With the G3240 and GT610 we're talking about something in the region of 100W, maybe 150W.

300-400W is with High end GPU and CPU.

Something like GTX 780ti, HEDT and/or high OC.

Stuff like that.

But with such a low end System, never ever. You can power like 3 of those with that power.

@seon123 was being sarcastic, responding to the other person who said that the system would use 300-400W under load and 130W when idle - without knowing what parts the OP has.

OP hasn't told us what parts he currently has. Though looking at his profile, looks like Ryzen 5 1500x + RX 560 with an EVGA BT 450w.

If you're just replacing the motherboard or changing case fans then wattage won't be an issue.

Oh, yeah, I knew that, still thought it might be a good idea to tell people who don't know much about Power Consumption, how little that system might use.
