My first ever build

Hey!

i’ve just finished up my first build for my big brother. Everything works as it should except fan control.

i’ve installed 8 thermaltake Riing 12 fans onto the case and connected them to a 9 port sata hub wich i’ve placed on the back panel. But i cant control the RPM’s on any of the fans because thermaltake’s software is saying it cant find the fan controller, and gives me the error code: H_0x0001.

I’ve gotten 2 boxes that can look like a fan control with 4 switches on the bottom(1, 2, 3 and 4) but i cant figure out how to link that box to the sata hub.

current specs:

Motherboard: Asus Maximus X Hero

GPU: Gefore RTX 2080

CPU: i7-8700k

m.2 ssd: 250GB Samsung Evo 970

HDD: 2TB exos from seagate

Already have the fan controller that followed with the fans. But as they only have ports for 3 fans, i’m not really sure on how i can connect the fan controller to the SATA hub.

because SATA hub dont exist, I think you're calling it the wrong name.

Oh sh*T , ya you need 4pin fans connected to mobo or to controller and what have you.

PWM is pulse width modulation, it's how motherboards control fan speed.

Uh, thats what it said on thermaltake’s page. But its a box that gives u more ports for 4 pin connects (like fans) to it if u don’t have enough ports on ur motherboard.

this is what we have https://www.thermaltake.com/mobile/productinfo.aspx?id=C_00003143

Well, the controllers i got only have 3 4 pin slots for 3 fans. So is it possible to connect the fan controller to the 4 pin hub with 9 slots?

that 9 plug hub is a SATA powered LED sync hub, it controls lighting but as far as I know, not fan speed. Maybe the two other boxes are fan speed controllers, not sure.

While I don't understand why PWM headers are there, that is not for fans. maybe those headers are for fans, but then you can only have 3 while 1 is for mobo signal. Overall, not the thing you might want to have. Instead, this is for fans https://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002702
