Buying the same brand of memory to ran dual channel

hi I'm currently gonna upgrade my memory to dual channel but I am confused,

I recently googled it and people are saying that it wouldn't run correctly or in sync with your ram even if they are the same brand same speed and same timings.

can you please help me with this? I currently have the hyperX 4gb stick and I am gonna buy another 4gb to run dual channel

I did it and it worked for me. Just get as close as you can to your first stick. Same brand and type, same capacity, same speed and same cas latency. Should work, don't let ppl scare you out of it.

I guess that's the safest way of doing it...

Going with completely different models from different brands might or might not work, but doing that should work in most cases, I guess...?

Yup, thats it.  I actually did it twice over in the same system. Started with a 4gb dimm, 2 months later I added another, 6 months after that I added a 2x8gb kit to give me a grand total of 24gb, all Crucial Ballistix DDR4 2400.  Everything worked fine for years.

I guess having it work isn't the main objective, but running dual channel is...?

I wouldn't bank on matching sticks working, even though they should.

In my 4th gen i5 PC I have 2 RAM kits (both same brand, capacity, clocks, etc) with one stick from each kit in a channel; it POSTs and runs perfectly.

In my Ryzen 2600x machine I have 2 RAM kits (again, same brand, etc) but I have to run each kit in seperate channels; even then the motherboard has trouble clearing POST
