Why does a connector from1987 still around and popular and not been replaced by Display port or DVI?

VGA isn't a really terrible connector. It is for things lower than 1280x1024.(Something I'm saying not a fact)

Still functional.

What if a port breaks and you need video?

Most people don't need the extra cost for a higher end unit.

There's an industry standard now a'days to include analog and digital interfaces to support backwards compatibility. If you completely phased out VGA, millions of devices would suddenly cry in terror, and would be suddenly silenced (until an analog to digital interface was brought into the picture - but that can cost almost as much as a new device.

It just is what it is.

Most of my devices have HDMI so I use that. :)

My monitor only has DVI and VGA...and the people at a local store don't know what DVI is so...yeah.

what did amd do for going In the right directio?

they banned the analog pins of the DVI-I Connector (DVI-D basically ^^) on their 290/x cards. So you cant use a dvi->vga adapter anymore.

Get a HDMI to DVI from eBay.

I'm currently using DVI to VGA because my GPU,luckily, came with one.(it doesn't have VGA out).

Oh,I've searched for them already.I looked at around 20 of them and nobody would ship them to Romania. Dat shipping!
