1080p all around good gaming pc.

I'm trying to keep my whole setup around $1,300 (I have headphones already).

A few notes:

  • The reason I'm going with the i5 over the ryzen 5 2600 that has been recommended to me before is because the i5 plus a cheap motherboard was only about $5 more expensive than the ryzen with a motherboard that didn't need the bios updated. The i5 is better in games, and that is what I will primarily be using the pc for.
  • I know getting a large ssd isn't too economical but I really value having fast storage, and it's worth the extra to me.
  • The wireless network adapter is most likely overkill but it has great reviews that say its lightening fast and I am really far from my router with a good many walls in between. I can't get an Ethernet cable to my pc.
  • I know I won't be able to consistently reach or even get close to 144 fps in demanding games but I'd like to have the extra Hz in easier to run titles.
  • Finally, I know the keyboard and mouse are poo but they are just for until I make up my mind on a keyboard. And if they break or straight up don't work, it was only $15.

Thanks for reading. If there are any obviously compatibility issues please let me know, I'm a noob.

I really think you should still be going for the R5 2600. You do know that AMD is releasing new processors that you can put in the AM4 motherboards, right? They're rumored (don't get hyped, its a rumor!) to be cheaper, and will be better than the current Ryzen CPUs. Just slap a better one in around the time they come out.

You don't have to get a B350 or X370 motherboard with the 2600, I don't know where you got the idea (no hard feelings, just FYI). The 300 boards are pretty meh anyway, the 400 (B450 and X470) are way better. Stick with the 400 mobos.

There shouldn't be any compatiblity issues, pcpartpicker.com makes sure everything is compatible in the first place :).

Get an OEM copy of windows off of eBay, they're much cheaper. I got a windows 10 pro key for $12 USD and it's been working for the past month and a half with no issues.
