at that price it's better to go for used parts. what country are you from?

Best performance now:

Cheap system with a 4th gen CPU already and a graphics card, both from eBay

Best upgradability:

Cheap Ryzen APU system with modern parts

which would you prefer

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I believe this would do, budget oriented but you can put a 6 core Ryzen CPU in there eventually and there's of course room for a decent graphics card as well as more storage.

There's also room for a better SSD in your budget if you'd like

$400 is not much, but perfect budget for an APU build:

Something like this would fit your needs:

- The AMD CPU has a pretty decent Vega GPU build right into it. This would be enough to play games like CS:GO

- You can always easily add a dedicated GPU later on, just plugs right in. This is great for upgradeability.

- All the other components are from decent brands, but their cheaper lines: EVGA PSU, Fractal Design Case, Patriot Memory, Asrock motherboard, Adata SSD. These are all quality components that won't fail you.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($149.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M-HDV Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($58.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Patriot - Viper 4 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($55.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: ADATA - Ultimate SU650 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($32.89 @ OutletPC)
Case: Fractal Design - Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($45.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA - BT 450 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($37.99 @ Monoprice)
Total: $381.71

Also good suggestion for components! Can't go wrong with Cooler Master, Corsair, Western Digital, Crucial, etc.

I would prefer to get the 2400G CPU versus the 2200G, because it has multithreading and better GPU.

RAM I would go with something a bit faster, like 3000Mhz, since the RAM will also be used as video RAM for the integrated CPU. Faster RAM is definitely a big deal for APU's.

The motherboard has video outputs, and the CPU has a "video card" built in. So no, it is not odd at all :)

Intel CPU's have had built in graphics cards for years. You don't need a dedicated GPU unless you are gaming.

I considered it, but the extra price puts it right at the budget, and that doesn't account for shipping. I figured if it's getting upgraded eventually anyway then it would be fine.

yeah faster ram actually isn't much more expensive, I just chose to add some breathing room but it would certainly do well.

yes, most Ryzen CPUs don't have integrated graphics, unless there's a G at the end (the ones we picked). The motherboard will have video ports.

Ohh,okay, but it will run some games at lower settings while i get a gPu,for instance what gPu you would suggest with this system,so the Psu can suPPort it.

You'll have enough power for the GPU of your choice, I recommend a GPU and CPU upgrade at the same time so you can take advantage of all the horsepower available to you.

Yes, when the new Ryzen 3000 series comes out then the cheapest one would be a good upgrade for you, around 100, and then a good graphics card from eBay for like $100 would be nice, perhaps something like a GTX 970 or 980. If you want a new graphics card and are looking for cheap, an RX 570 has excellent value over the 1050 ti.

Well if you get the 2400G, it's actually a lot better than the 2200G so maybe an upgrade wouldn't be as necessary. RX 570 is a strong recommend.

As for monitor, 1080p 60Hz, bog standard.

Yes, I agree. The 2400G should be good enough for future upgrades.

I would not advise to buy a CPU now and upgrade it later, that would be a waste of money. You just should get the system as described above now, and just by an ADDITIONAL GPU in the future. It just plugs right into the system.

Which GPU you should buy for the upgrade depends on your budget, but yes the RX570 is one of the best value for money GPU's right now. If you have a bit more to spend, the RX 580 or GTX 1060 6GB are good too.

The 560 isn't very good so I'd just take the money you would have spent on one and save for something like a 580
