So I am currently planning to... essentially completely replace every part of my current build. Here's what's up:

My current build:

CPU: i5-6600k

GPU: MSI GTX 980ti

RAM: 16GB HyperX Kingston Fury

Storage:

    Samsung 960EVO 250GB (OS Drive)

    Samsung 950EVO 500GB (Steam)

Mobo: Asus z170-A

PSU: Corsair HX750

Cooling: Corsair H100i v2

Case: NZXT s340 elite

Bits and bobs: A CableMod vertical mount GPU bracket

^ which is not bad, but I feel like we can do better

So here's the plan for the new build:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/MfpsQZ

CPU: i9-9900k

GPU: Asus RTX 2080ti

RAM: 64GB? not really sure

Storage:

I'll keep my current SSDs plus probably another 1 or 2 TB SSD

Mobo: very much undecided, as long it follows a black & white color scheme, I'm happy ^^

PSU: I suspect the HX750 will suffice

Cooling: I think I'll stick with an AIO, since I don't feel confident building a custom loop. I don't know if I'll stick with the h100 though, I'm open to suggestions

Case: I like the s340 and I'll stick with it

Bits and bobs: vertical mount GPU bracket (because I'm a sucker for looks)

                          sleeved cables?

I'll also upgrade my monitor from my current 27'' 1440p monitor to either one ultrawide (4k?) or two 4k 16:9s.

I'm mostly using my rig for productivity (programming, some AI) purposes, and some light gaming on the side. I know the rig is pretty overpowered, but I'm in the unusual position of having money to burn (about 2.500€), so I thought I'd 'invest' it into my PC. I could up my budget a bit if needed, but I'd like to stick to the 2,5k.

I'm happy to see any suggestions and/or changes you'd make to the rig. I live in Germany, so please keep that in mind when choosing parts.

Cheers!

So is the rest probably

Does your current rig not do what you want it to do? "investing" is a PC is a sure fire way to turn a large sum of money into a small one, as you know nothing holds its value. If you wish to invest in something that will actually grow in value, a  PC isn't it. If, on the other hand, you just want to upgrade for the sake of upgrading, then have at it.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

That's why I wrote 'invest' I am aware that this essentially the same as burning my money.

I'm really just upgrading for the sake of upgrading. And because I enjoy having a powerful PC ^^

I would say either any atx aorus board or the asrock extreme4 will do. personally would choose the aorus master. I would personally get a 2080 ti ftw (if you can find them any cheap) or a xc ultra.

I just love evga's consumer service

I haven't really had any experience with EVGA, but I've heard nothing but good things about their customer serivce, yeah.

But like I said, I'm a sucker for looks, so the FTW edition or whichever card I end up going for has to fit in visually. I know it's stupid, but when I'm investing so much money into a rig ike that, I want it to be quite the eye candy as well ^^

well, you wanted a black/white colour scheme, so gray/black should fit in nicely
